Gaspar (Irreversible) Noé’s contribution is atypically punishing study; while from the … well, unique mind of Matthew (Cremaster) Barney, comes a typically bizarre/beautiful fusion of man and object, the organic and the inert. Marco Brambilla offers a visual poem: a dizzying, ravishing montage of erotic clinches from hundreds of movies, both adult and mainstream – and Larry (Kids) Clark delivers a smart and funny deconstruction of the whole gonzo phenomenon, the growing democratisation of the adult entertainment industry, as he interviews various young American men, all avid consumers of erotica, before selecting one to shag a starlet of his choice on-camera. Something for everyone, in short.
